We respect and are committed to protecting your privacy. The Privacy Notice below lets you know how the personally identifying information (“personal information”) you provide us with when applying to the Oncology Academy is processed and used.

By applying to the Oncology Academy, you choose to provide personal data including your name, e-mail address, telephone number and curriculum vitae to us as part of the application process, submitted to the Secretariat at oncologyacademy2023@axon-com.com

Oncology Academy will only use your personal details for the purposes of managing the Oncology Academy. This includes sharing applications with the Oncology Academy Scientific Steering Committee for their review, scoring and selection; sharing names and contact details with Debiopharm and affiliates (where applicable) to provide support for travel and accommodation to the training; retaining applicant details to cross check for repeat applicants; retaining alumni details to keep in touch and inform about future events/activities.

Oncology Academy will not sell, share or rent your personal information to others except with your consent; when we need to share the information to provide a service, you have requested; or to enable a third party to provide services to us and then only to provide those services. We also will disclose personal information to enforce our rights, to prevent fraud or when required by law, judicial process or other legal order to do so.

  1. What type of personal information is COLLECTED?

We’ll give you details about why we need your personal information and how we’ll use it before you begin. Most of the information we process is provided to us directly by you for the following reason: to capture your interest to attend or registration to an Oncology Academy organised meeting/event.

We use the information that you have given us to process your registration and/or organise logistical arrangements on your behalf such as, but not limited to, flights, accommodation, transfers and meals.

The lawful basis we rely on for processing this information is your consent.

  2. We might ask for your name and contact details, your qualifications, place of work, passport details, emergency contact details, and dietary requirements.

  4. Devices are lots of things like:

    • your TV

    We automatically collect some technical information from these devices and web browsers. This might include:

    • IP (internet protocol) address
    • device ID
    • app ID
    • vendor ID

We are strongly committed to keeping your information safe. Data will be stored in our secure server, a secure section of the Oncology Academy website and via email.

  1. DATA RETENTION PERIOD

Oncology Academy will store personal data entered for 6 years for the purposes of retaining applicant details to cross check for repeat applicants and informing Oncology Academy alumni about future events/activities.

You will receive email correspondence from us regarding Oncology Academy updates and related information for the meeting as well as future alumni events.

You can ask us what information we hold about you by contacting the Oncology Academy Secretariat at: oncologyacademy2023@axon-com.com. Please keep your information up-to-date by letting us know of any changes.

  • Right to judicial review: in the event that Oncology Academy refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why. You have the right to complain
